I know there were plenty of other shows for you to choose from last night, but if you were fortunate enough to get your ass to Spaceland last night, you were treated to a SHOW. Bummed you missed it? Do not fret - you can catch the gentlemen at Bar Pink in San Diego tonight or take a trip behind the curtain and see them at the Juke Joint in Anaheim on Thursday night.

SHO-NUFF/SHOW SHOTS: She Wants Revenge

She Wants Revenge
740 Club/Globe Theatre
April 24, 2009

The 740 Club was PACKED on Friday night for She Wants Revenge and War Tapes. It was my first time at the venue and I have to say that I was impressed. The venue was big enough to hold a decent sized crowd and had several levels for you to watch the show from if you're not into the whole "getting sweaty with your fellow fans" thing. The decor stayed true to the Globe Theatre name, complete with drapes, molding and colunms. The people could have been nicer, but whatever. I am not about to hate on people's fans.

If there was any doubt in my mind about how dedicated and committed SWR fans were, there isn't anymore. At all. If you were at this show you know exactly what I'm referring to. Justin didn't have to sing at all because their fans were singing along to just about every song...including one of three new tracks performed that night, "Animal Attraction" (which is currently streaming on their myspace page). Let me tell you: it's a GREAT track. Loving the "Prince, Wendy and Lisa-esque-ness" of it. Yeah, I made up a word. Get over it. All I'm saying is that the show was great, the fans were into it and I am eagerly waiting to hear the rest of the new material.

Missed the show? Stop crying, silly. The band will be playing the following dates in June:

June 11 - The Glass House in Pomona, CA
June 12 - Bimbos in San Francisco, CA
June 13 - 210 North in Reno, NV
June 14 - House of Blues in San Diego, CA

Also, if you ever get a change to go downstairs in the venue, there is this secret little mini club. KIND of amazing potential with this place. Like, I wouldn't mind asking people to bring an egg in exchange for entry. Interesting little adventures to be had here...

SHO-NUFF/SHOW SHOTS: Great Northern Record Release Party

Great Northern Record Release Party
April 22, 2009

Great Northern celebrated the release of their latest album, 'Remind Me Where The Light Is' (to be released next week) at Malo last night. The Silversun Pickups and She Wants Revenge came to show their support while guests snacked on chips and salsa and sipped on $10 margaritas (ouch!). At the end of the night, those of us that were left had ourselves a little dance party with Rachel, Solon and friends. Doing an Irish jig to Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" is a lot harder than it seems. Trust us.
